The Pleiad Team

Laurie Morin
  > President

In January 2008, after a seven-year history with the company, Laurie successfully took over the reins of company president. Laurie's primary responsibilities within Pleiad Canada include creation and maintenance of client and consultant relationships, identification of corporate growth opportunities, strategic planning and positioning the company. Laurie is responsible for all aspects of operations from human resources to contract management.

Laurie is a natural networker with a genuine eagerness to learn more about the people she meets. Laurie was a 6-year member of Business Network International where she held a variety of chapter leadership roles, including chapter president. She is also active in her community, volunteering with organizations like the Canadian Cancer Society where she was a 3 year steering committee member organizing the yearly Nepean Relay For Life event and a 10 year participant on the Pleiad StarWalkers Relay team.

Born and raised in Ottawa's west end, Laurie attended Carleton University and graduated with a degree in Psychology. Since graduation, Laurie has always worked in recruitment, human resources and sales, as both an employee and consultant in Ottawa-based consulting firms.

Laurie, her husband Pierre and their three children, Sophie, Danielle and Adam, are supporters of the Ottawa 67's Hockey Club and initiated Pleiad Canada into the Ottawa 67's Adopt-A-School program. In the past, Pleiad Canada has been pleased to sponsor De La Salle High School and have provided the school with 10 tickets to each regular season home game and in 2010 is excited to sponsor Christie Lake Kids.

Andrée Riffou
  > Founder

Ten years after launching Pleiad Canada, Andrée Riffou has embarked on a second business venture. In January 2008, Andrée began the first phase of her endeavour by registering at Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts School. After a year and a half of cuisine and pastry courses in both Ottawa and Paris, Andrée successfully attained the most respected Cordon Bleu designation of Le Grand Diplôme de cuisine et de pâtisserie. Phase two was her launch of her new business: C'est Bon Cooking.

Andrée's objective with her new venture is to transfer her passion for food in such a way that her clients will feel inspired and confident to cook. C'est Bon offers its clients corporate teambuilding workshops, public and private cooking classes, as well as local, regional and international food tours.

Andrée treasures time spent with her husband Richard and their son and daughter, Dominic and Mireille. In her free time she also enjoys skiing, hiking, Pilates, cooking and entertaining.
